About Me!
I have always loved to sew and create, from doll clothes to Halloween outfits when I was young, to curtains and quilts as I got older.
It wasn’t until a dear friend encouraged me to “rescue” unwanted material and create bags that I found how much fun that could be. Then, with my husband’s encouragement, Katy the Bag Lady was born! (Of course, being retired from a “real job” helped me find the time!)
Looking at a beloved old pair of jeans, a neglected bedspread or quilt, or fabric that has been handed down. I let the fabric do the talking and decide what it wants to be.
When I’m not sewing, you might see me biking on a Rail Trail or camping at a State Park, reading a historical fiction or a murder mystery or enjoying a road race at The Glen!

Sustainability
Recycling and re-use is very important to me. Rescuing fabric from going to the landfill and giving it new life helps eliminate waste and contribute to "circular fashion".
